The Second Central Asian Forum “Cooperation to foster low emissions and climate resilient development in Central Asia” took a place in a hybrid format on 24-25 November in Almaty.
Representatives of relevant ministries from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, experts and non-government organizations focused on adaptation to climate change participated the event.
Aizhan Skakova, Member of the Majilis Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted the importance of compliance with the adopted and approved goals for reducing gas emissions in Kazakhstan.
Monika Iversen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Kazakhstan, spoke about the global efforts in climate resilient development and the importance of international cooperation in low-carbon emissions.
Zevarsho Zevarshoi, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan, spoke about Tajikistan’s carbon reduction goals.
The event was organized by the Association of Environmental Organizations of Kazakhstan with the support of the regional program “Integrative and Climate – sensitive Land Use in Central Asia” and other environmental projects, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)
