Forest sector representatives of all five countries of Central Asia shared the current status and policy of forests and potential cooperation areas in the region. The regional programme “Integrative and Climate-sensitive Land Use in Central Asia”, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (German federal enterprise for international cooperation) on behalf of German government, presented information about Landscape Partnership Asia (LPA) and engaging stakeholders for restoring Central Asia. Issues about afforestation and improving livelihoods in arid and semi-arid area, Korea – Central Asia cooperation in forestry and plans on collaboration were discussed.
