The regional programme “Sustainable and Climate Sensitive Land Use for Economic development in Central Asia” team, in collaboration with the global project “Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services in Agricultural Landscapes”, conducted an information seminar for students of the Tajik Agrarian University (TAU). The Forestry Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan was a partner of this event. The seminar was held on 30 November 2019 in Dushanbe city, Tajikistan.
The information seminar was attended by more than 45 students from various faculties, most of whom were students of the forestry and agricultural faculties. This event created a platform for the exchange of information, experience, knowledge, various useful tools and tips, where participants discussed their achievements and challenges.
The exchange of national experiences and lessons learned was the main part of the workshop. Participants discussed with colleagues (former TAU students) and experts the most promising and complex areas of work on forestry facilities.
The seminar was developed based on the results of activities that were acquired when young forest professionals attended various programs, short-term courses, conducted an inventory at the Khovaly forestry enterprise and participated in the XVI International Junior Forest Competition in Voronezh, Russia.
