10 июля 2019. Национальный координатор SLU-CA выступила с докладом о важности устойчивого использования природных ресурсов в условиях потепления климата

SLU-CA participated in scientific- production conference, “Achievements of Our country in the Field of Growing Grain”. The event was conducted by the Turkmenistani government. Around 200 people participants* explored results in selective adaptive research projects that are being implemented across Central Asia in arid areas.

Tests of new crop varieties were presented at the conference. These will become the basis for a digital database, the purpose of which will be to increase performance and improve logistics.

Special attention was paid to the environmental component of agricultural development. For this occasion, SLU-CA’s national partner, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Protection of Turkmenistan, invited SLU-CA Country Coordinator, Mrs. Maya Ashirova, to make a short report on the importance of sustainable use of natural resources under conditions of warming climate.

That SLU-CA member was invited to participate in this conference demonstrates the acknowledgement and appreciation of our programme by regional governments. Beyond this, participating in this conference provided the opportunity to share information about our work with a broad audience, and of course to raise awareness about such important topics as sustainable pasture management, and climate change, among others.
